Help me! I’m new to wordpress, and my blog was suspended

    My blog was: I woke up this morning and it was said that it was suspended, and I have no idea why. I just spent a week of 14 hour days moving stuff over from my other site, and now I’m feeling a little nauseous that I’ve lost everything. Can someone please help me? I don’t even know, or have any idea why it would have been suspended. It’s all general info about the film industry. Can anyone please help? What steps do i need to take to get the blog back up? Will my blog still be there? I wish there was a way they simply told me what was not supposed to be up there, and then I’d remove it, no problem.

    Can anyone tell me if all of my blog will still be there? Even if it’s something I have to move to a new blogging site? I’m just worried about the time and work that went in to it, to lose everything. I understand the idea of backing up now more then ever. Also, is there a place to clearly read reasons for suspension?



    Hmm… film industry. Please note that if you possibly made any copyright violations, or accused, criticized harshly, it probably could be the cause of your suspension.

    No, everything I put up is either already announced, in the world, and available. And our social comments have never been abrasive, or harsh. It’s literally, as easy breezy as it can get, which is why I’m so distraught over being “suspended”. It’s seriously got me in a panic.


    But i can’t modify it, it won’t let me sign in at all. It says “Account suspended”. I’d absolutely LOVE to adjust the blog, but I have no idea what is being perceived as breaking the TOS, or how to log on to fix it.

    Is there a way to do that?

    Also, and sorry to be so needy, is there an expected turnaround time on support?



    Sometimes it’s a mistake, sometimes not, but forum volunteers have no way of knowing which it is or why, if the latter, the action was taken. If you have a dashboard message to contact support about this, do so. If not, please do as carocat suggested:

    Account suspended? That’s unusual, normally you can still access your dashboard, there is normally a text saying what you should do.

    You say all your content was already pubished etc? I guess you simple ignored the DCMA then and that they suspended you for that.

    No, sorry, what I mean was, it was all already public knowledge. For example, I would write blurbs about stuff recently in the entertainment newspaper Variety, etc. We’d never do a cut and paste job, simply give our opinions on things that were public knowledge.

    For example, they’d announce a movie that was bought in the cannes film festival starring, this person or that, and we would discuss. Simple as that. Which is why I’m at a loss as to why it’s suspended, and why we can’t even access our account. We just “officially launched” and had 4,000 views over the weekend, and now we’re not there, which is a bummer.



    @trackbordfillin – I understand your frustration but as carocat (a moderator) and I (2 years here) have told you — there is nothing forum volunteers can do to help you. Anyone who knows for sure what has happened — that would be staff — isn’t talking.

    Staff rarely will discuss this sort of thing in the forum, although it has been known to happen. But your guess is as good as anyone’s here and we simply can not help you.

    Having looked at teh cached version, I think it looks very clean. The only possible issue I can see is the subscription button, but I’m not staff.


    Wait for staff to get back to you. There have been a few instances in the past where the suspension was an error. Hopefully that is the case for you.

    Ok guys, so it appears I can log in to my account now, and see the blog stats/and my profile, but my blog is missing entirely. I can see the stats, the referring sites, and the main posts read, but not the blog. I Just wanted to see if anyone was aware if this was standard operating procedure in the support process?

    And I apologize if I’m nagging anyone, but I’m still really worried about losing the 750+ posts, and all the work that went in to the site.
