Help with Panel theme and blog posts
I’m teaching a composition course using graphic narratives in the fall, and I’d like to use Panel so that they can display the Bitstrips they create. I’d *really* like the home page to be ONLY the latest posts, NOT including comics (which I’ve already set up as a separate archive link, using the menu option, thanks for that) – or to somehow be able to set the comics up on a different page entirely (as in – they post on a separate page fully rather than as an archival link, but not the main posts page). The blog I’m currently attempting to set up is: http://eng101comics0767.wordpress.com/
When I choose “latest blog posts” for the home page under the Reading options, the comic appears rather than my first actual post. Is there any way to make sure the comics don’t appear on the front home page with the recent posts? My concern is mostly that the students will be creating a fair amount of comics, and by the time we get a bit deeper into the semester they will suddenly have to wade through 20+ comics before getting to the written work they are doing!
Thanks for any help…
The blog I need help with is eng101comics0767.wordpress.com.

Thanks raincoaster, but I’m still wondering if there is a work-around. I understand the last point in the link you posted (that you cannot separate out recent posts by category on the “recent post” page, etc.), but I was wondering if there was a way to fix it for the Panel theme in particular: you choose Comics as an entirely different option on the dashboard, it is not simply a post format option (or even under “Posts,” for that matter). I’m assuming the code is completely different as well, so I’m wondering if there is some option I don’t know about to separate them out even more. Does that make sense?
Themes are not my strong suit. I suggest you test it and see how it works.
Hmmm…I’ve already activated it and been playing around with it for a while, I’ll see if someone else has possibly figured out a fix for this in Panel. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
