Help with Sidebar
We are trying to make a blog to keep our recipes, and I am having trouble getting the categories and tags. I have added the widgets but when I go back to my main site, it says that there aren’t any categories and there are no tags listed. What I have posted, I clicked which category and clicked what tags or added new tags. What am I doing wrong that I cannot see anything on the side? I just wanted to make it easier to navigate. Also, I went to add a new post and where I did have tags show up to be checked or not, there aren’t any now listed and says that there aren’t any tags. FRUSTRATED!
The blog I need help with is rnrbakedgoodsrecipes.wordpress.com.
You have no posts. Categories and tags won’t show up until there are published posts which include those categories and tags.
Categories can be assigned only to Posts, not to Pages.
Categories can be created in your dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-the-dashboard or they can be created “on the fly” in posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-the-categories-module
See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
Until there is a published post in any Category there is nothing that can be displayed in the Categories widget or on the dynamic Categories pages.
As your blog is set to “private” we Voilunteers cannot see it and cannot determine which aspect your are having issues with. If you need more help than what I posted then change that setting to public please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Oops! I see that you blog is set to public and is wearing the Jentri theme.
For Tags see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/ and note once again that you have to have published posts with Tags assigned to them in order for there to be anything to display.
