To the extent of my knowlege, no. Something that I can reccomend, however, is that you password-lock your posts until you want them to be publicly viewed. (Just make sure you remember the password, and unlock it when you are ready for you to view it.)
1) create a static welcome page and then under Dashboard->Settings->Reading, set that as the blog start page. That will mean your blog posts come up on a separate place, and if you have a tabbed header you will see another tab for the blog.
2) Use a Custom Menu and then you can put a tab for the landing static page and tabs for each category page you want to show, and you don’t have to provide a link to the actual blog itself at all.
