hide/show author toggle

It is important for many pople, whether a theme shows the author, or not. That is why there is this list:
So once you decided about hiding / showing the authors name, you are limited to only one half of the available themes at Moreover, if you change your decision you have to change the complete theme.

It would be great to have an option (e.g. Theme Option, as long as not all themes support it) whether to show or hide the authors name. Only minor changes to the themes would be needed for this feature.

Adding some options in themes results in a wider choice vor users of themes available fitting their needs. This way, could reduce the number of themes, putting some effort in more customizable ones.
I, as a user would love this.

  3. Good idea! I agree.
I'm taking part in a multi-author blog, and I'm looking for another theme because some translations are not applied on current one (Connections). I had not thought in that issue.
This proposal would open more possibilities of choice.
There are a lot of themes, but not a lot of choices if you are searching some for your own taste (without CSS editing).
