Hiding Posts from Home Page
I have my posts linked to my Popparazzi page, but they still show up on my Home Page. Is there a way to have them only visible on the Popparazzi page? I’m using the Hum template.
The blog I need help with is lillipop.net.
There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page named whatever you want example: “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
Thanks for such a quick response. I have set up a Welcome Page as a static page and a Blog Page (Papparazzi) to accept posts, per your instructions, but the posts are showing up on both pages!
Hello, I might be in the wrong place, but can someone tell me how to hide my dashboard content from visitors to my site?
Hello, I might be in the wrong place, but can someone tell me how to hide my dashboard content from visitors to my site? Sorry for the duplicate message. I needed to activate the email notification.
Actually I discovered something else. When I set up the Home Page (I’ve now renamed Welcome), into the Showcase template, the posts appear in contracted form.
When I select Sidebar template, the posts go away and only this message appears, “FOLLOW POPARAZZI! Click to follow my blog. I’ll send you notifications when I publish.” This is more acceptable.
Of course, I prefer the Showcase template.
Sorry, don’t know anything about hijacking or posting for that matter.
djudge47 – you’ve been answered in your original thread here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-hide-dashboard
Hey what about me? I started this post and djudge47 hikjacked my post!
:) Actually I figured out the answer myself, but I have posted a few other questions today on separate posts.
sharonshero – if you still need any help here, just let me know. If you need staff help on another thread, just add the modlook tag to it and someone will have a look. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip! I”ll tag the few posts I have still hanging out there. This topic has been resolved. I appreciate your responding!
