Hiding sub items in nav menu button

Is there a way to edit the navigation menu button to hide sub items?

I would like the drop down menu to only list the page titles (About, Upcoming, Programs, Video, Contact, Register) — could subitems be displayed by clicking and arrow? See example on this website:

The menu feels too long, especially as I add more sub items.

    Thx you

Hi there, to get the behavior on the website you reference, would require editing and changing the theme files, which we cannot do here at WordPress.com. CSS is a styling document used by browsers to position and style the elements of a web page and cannot be used to add functionality such as this.

We do have some themes here which have an arrow that you have to click on to get the submenus to appear. The only one that comes to mind at the moment is Blask, but on that theme the menu is down the left side, not at the top.
