    I bought the custom pack to add my own CSS.
    Whats the best way to hide Tags?

    The blog I need help with is neilgreenhorn.wordpress.com.

    What has to be done, and if it is even possible is theme specific. Some themes were designed with far more flexibility than others. The site linked to your username is set to private so we cannot see it so it is difficult to tell what to do. At the very least we need to know what theme you are using.

    Hi thesacredpath, shouldn’t be blocked anymore but for the record I’m using Clean Home by Mid Mo Design

    I see only categories in use are those what you are wanting to hide? If so, then this will do it.

    div.category {
    display: none;
    }

    Hmm that didnt seem to work but thats.

    What about getting rid of the lines under the links, I tried

    a:link {
    text-decoration:none;
    }

    a:visited {
    text-decoration:none;
    }

    a:hover {
    text-decoration:underline;
    }

    a:active {
    text-decoration:underline;
    }

    You need to explain to me then what exactly you want to get rid of since that works on that theme on my test site.

    If you are using the preview function to check, sometimes you have to force refresh the preview page to see the change.

    Since your site is completely blown up at the moment, I can’t even hazard a guess.

    Two things:

    Do not paste the entire stylesheet into the edit window. That can cause all sorts of issues. Put only the specific selectors, and the specific declarations you are adding or changing into the CSS edit window and make sure the “add to existing…” radio button is selected before saving the changes.

    Secondly, any code I give you should be pasted at the very bottom of your CSS changes just in case there is something above in your CSS that can muck up what I give you.

    Sorry for being so vague. There is two things I would like to do.

    – Get rid of where is says Tags: batteries, battery, extender, extending, gadgets, HTC sensation (see first post for example).

    – Also where it shows a dotted line under the URL for each link I would like to remove that.

    Last night your site was using a different theme when I visited it and there were no tags being displayed. That is why I was confused. I wondered because you mentioned clean home, but that was not the theme I saw you using. The following gets rid of the tags.

    .tag-links {
    display: none;
    }

    This gets rid of the bottom border on links (non-hovered)

    .header a, #blurb a, .content a, #sidebar a, #footer a {
    border-bottom: none;
    }

    This gets rid of the bottom border on links (hovered)

    .header a:hover, #blurb a:hover, #sidebar a:hover, #footer a:hover, .content a:hover {
    border-bottom: none;
    }

    I’ve been tyring to hide my tags and categories above my posts for days, but can’t seem to find the CSS to do so. I have the CSS upgrade but need help tryring to find it using this theme. (K2-Lite) ANy help would be great! :)

    #738782

    There is no code for removing the tags in K2. It is a very old theme and the CSS is very minimal so all you could do would be to hide everything under the title, the date, the categories, the leave a comment link, all of that would go bye-bye.

    #738783

    hw would i go about removing it all?

    #738784

    This will do it.

    .entry-meta {
    display: none;
    }

    I would like to hide tags and categories in the Structure theme using CSS, ideally completely, but at a minimum get the space using suckers off the home page. Thanks in advance for the help.

    The site linked to your username, http://abusivediscretion.wordpress.com/ , is using Coraline. When posting in the forums, please include a link to the site you are talking about.

    The following gets rid of tags and categories on the main page only (assuming you are using the standard main page and not a static front page).

    .homepagecontent .postmeta {
    display: none;
    }

    The following gets rid of categories and tags on the single post pages as well as category, tag and archive pages.

    .single .postmeta p, .archive .postmeta p {
    display: none;
    }

    Thanks for your reply. Did it relate to Structure, or Coraline? Here’s one of my many Structure sites: bajawaterman.com
