Home image for Edin theme.

  1. My home image on the Edin theme is showing up fuzzy even when I am saving it high rez. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix it?

The blog I need help with is thingsiwriteonpostits.com.

  2. Every theme has a detailed theme description page. Here's the one for the theme you have selected https://wordpress.com/theme/edin and that's where set up instructions for it and the live demo site link is found.

We recommend using an image 1230 pixels wide by 1230 pixels high.

The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

  3. That still doesn't fix it for some reason. I've tried jpg, png, saved for web, not saved for web. 300 quality, 150 quality. etc etc etc. :/

  4. Hi there,

What is the size of the original image? If the original is smaller than 1230 pixels wide there's no way to prevent quality loss if you're resizing it to be bigger.

If the original is bigger, resize it to be 1230 pixels wide. Don't try to force a 1230 height by adding a transparent layer as you have in the current image. Then export it as a JPEG at the default compression your image editing software uses.

It likely still won't be perfect on all screen sizes, as some quality loss when the theme resizes the image is unavoidable, but that should give you the best results.
