Home page and About page (centering)

    My ‘About’ page image is centered perfectly. My home page shows that it is centered (images) but looks off kilter.

    The blog I need help with is belladonichaze.me.

    I compared these:

    I found that you are using a static front page for the home page with a tiled gallery in it. The tiled gallery is full width, but each block inside is stacked to the left inside the gallery. It seems that works to make galleries fit full width with no extra space on the right on posts or pages where you have a sidebar and that makes it look centered when it’s really not. In any case, you can center the tiled gallery on the home page with a little CSS.

    First, to visualize what’s going on, try adding this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor and clicking preview.

    .tiled-gallery {
    	border: 3px dotted red;
    .tiled-gallery-item {
    	border: 3px dotted blue;

    It will give you an idea of how the HTML elements are getting floated and stacked.

    Then, to center the tiled gallery on just the home page, you could use something like this:

    .home .tiled-gallery {
    	width: 856px;
    	margin: 0 auto;

    Adjust the width value if needed.

    I noticed your about page title is not centered, but you might want to center the title on the home page. This CSS, using the “home” class in the selector, will center the title on just the home page:

    .home .entry-header {
    	text-align: center;

    You are freakin’ awesome! What about centering on the other pages. Thank you so much. You are the only one who has been able to assist me.

    Happy New Year! :)

    Fyi, I tried: .about .entry…etc and it didn’t work. Thought substituting the page name would be the trick.

    @designsimply…are you online today? Happy new year to you! :)

    What about centering on the other pages?

    Do you mean centering the title? If so, just remove “.home” from the last example I posted above.

    If you mean something else, can you reply here with an example link and a description of exactly what you’re trying to center? When I looked before, tiled galleries were full width in the posts page, so it didn’t look to me like there was anything to center really. Maybe I wasn’t looking at what you’re talking about.

    CSS support should be done in the forums or by making a request at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ :)

    You did mean the titles. I found a separate topic about it at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/need-to-center-titles-on-pages-except-posts-page?replies=2 and I replied there.
