home page still error
Ok, I was able to remove all content. However the home page still shows an “error”, is it possible to cancel this out and start fresh?
thanks for being patient with me.

It shows an error precisely because you have deleted everything. There are no posts for wordpress to show. Create and publish a post and that error will go away.
it’s circle game > see here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/home-tab-error?replies=5
The error appeared prior to me deleting things. I posted comments, and the error still remains.
I am new to this and right now I am frustrated. I had another theme, before this one and did not have any issues. once I selected this theme, it has been a nightmare.
I will post something for you to see.
This has zero to do with the theme. You simply don’t comprehend what we are saying to you. You deleted the Hello World placeholder post. That produced the 404 (page not found) error. You created only Pages and no Posts and unless or until you create a post it will not disappear.
Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome“ for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose Choice 1 static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
