Host WordPress-purchased domain name on GoDaddy?
I just purchased my domain using WordPress and want to switch to hosting on GoDaddy so I can use wordpress.org.
I’m not sure how to go about getting my website to redirect over to GoDaddy, though. I’ve tried changing my nameservers to those of GoDaddy with no luck. Does anyone know how to get it to work when the domain was purchased with wordpress and not GoDaddy?
The blog I need help with is pixelsandlandscapes.com.
If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.

Are those the instruction you followed? If so, exactly what happened when you followed them?
Nameserver changes can take up to 48 hours to go into full effect. I did a forum search on “godaddy” for you and located this > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-long-does-it-take-for-dns-setting-to-be-effective?replies=13#post-681503
You also need to make sure that Godaddy is set to receive your domain name (they need to have set up a base site for your name) so when the name servers are changed to Godaddy the name knows where to go – note that Godaddy had many name servers and you need to change your name to point to the correct one.
My situation’s a little tricky:
I have a domain registered via GoDaddy which means that PixelsandLandscapes can’t be set as the primary domain.
So I’ve set the nameservers to NS47.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and NS48.DOMAINCONTROL.COM but I’m not seeing anything.
If it’s pointing to GoDaddy it should come up as the standard GoDaddy domain page, no?
If you want your site to run on WordPress.org software, you need to find a host if you haven’t already done so. Is GoDaddy your host? If so, please ask GoDaddy for assistance.
