Hosting mp3s here – has it increased my internet bill?

Firstly, I have no idea if this is a silly question or not, but I’m hoping it has an easy answer!

At the start of the year I upgraded my space so that I could host mp3 files on my blog rather than at an external file host like savefile or fileden.

A few days ago I got my internet bill for the previous month and it was huge – a few hundred dollars more than previous months. I’m wondering if the changeover to hosting mp3s on my blog instead of linking to an external file host had any effect on this? I download mp3s at home frequently, but the frequency hasn’t really changed in the last couple of months – this is the only thing I can think of that I’ve been doing differently in the last month.

    Please help!

    Thanks heaps

The blog I need help with is

“The Legal Stuff” has no legal basis.
Please only link to files that you have the explicit permission to distribute. Keep a copy of that permission because if/when the RIAA or other organisations demand you remove the files you can use it to argue your case. Those organisations never contact bloggers because they know we have a duty to act – which we do very quickly.

As for charges? Not from us. We have no bandwidth limits.
