How can I buy a domain & domain mapping?

    On the page,
    it says that:

It costs $10/year for the domain name.
It costs $10/year for domain mapping
If you buy both at the same time the total cost is $15/year

I want to do both, and have gone options > domains and entered in a domain I would like, and on the page that loads is:

Domain mapping is available for 10 credits per domain per year, registration not included. You have 0 credits. You will have to purchase additional credits via PayPal. Note that some forms of payment (eChecks) may take several days to process.

Where can I buy credits for both a domain & mapping as mentioned above? Phew :p

Paypal. You need to gave the money in your paypal account and pass it to Automattic.

    pass it onto automatic?
Okay, so I got some money in, how can I associate PayPal with WordPress?

go back to where you entered the domain you want to use, and as you go through the steps, it should at some point ask you to pay for the credits.

Judy: Yup I did that, but there was no option to buy credits or create the domain. It just displayed that I needed credits, and that WordPress was unsure if the domain was pointing at Wp or something like that. How confusing…can you even buy a domain (as mentioned) with WordPress anymore?!

I paid the $10 to add my domain name, but must have missed the option to buy domain mapping. I can’t find anyplace to purchase the domain mapping feature. Can someone tell me how to find it?

These two links I found from the FAQ search box should help you out:

I’m a bit lost myself. Can someone tell me if I can buy and register a domain name directly fro wWordpress? Or do I need to buy and register the name some place else, like first? Thanks

You can get it through WordPress if you find that easier. You need to buy the domain mapping upgrade and a domain name from WordPress, which together is US $15/year. It’s covered in the FAQs.
