hi:) i’m new here, just started this blog. and i searched everywhere in the appearance/post/page customization menus, but i couldn’t find how to get rid of this annoying message in the header:

“Hey there! Thanks for dropping by Instant Blah – Just Add Water! Take a look around and grab the RSS feed to stay updated. See you around!”

i’d never write something like this, this is definitely NOT me, plus it completely soils the top of the page! so please, can you tell me how to get rid of it? or at least overwrite it..
since it’s a free blog, i don’t have access to CSS btw.
    thanks a lot! :)

If you mean the words just below the title, then that’s wordpress being cute. It’s the tagline. You can change it via your settings. Read this:

nope, i already deleted the tagline in settings before i wrote this..

what i meant was the text in the header banner.. i found out later after asking this question that this can be hidden through CSS (#header #headerbanner {display:none;}), but since i have a free blog = almost no customization, i could only test this, but not save it.. so i guess there’s no way to hide this plump text without CSS :((
please someone tell me if i got it wrong.

Depending on the theme you have (your blog is private and we cannnot see what it is) you can choose not to display “header text” here > Appearance > Header – scroll down to:
    Header Text
__Show header text with your image.
    select and save changes
