How can I get the URL of an inactive account?

  1. I wish to start a blog for the organisation I work for, but the two most logical URL are already in use. Two blogs have been created in 2010 and 2011 without ever being used after their creation (still has the automatically created blogpost and comments). I have tried to leave a comment on their site to get them to delete the inactive account to free up the URL, but I'm not getting a response. What can I do now?

  2. That's not possible.

There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

if you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name.

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying address is.
