How can I log in when my login email is not recognized?
You will need Staff help. In order to help you get access to your blog Staff need one of the following things in order to correctly identify you as the blog owner:
1. an email from the email address associated with the account or revealing what that associated email address was
2. the wordpress.com API key for your account. This was included in your welcome email with a note to keep it safe. Please do not post the API key here.
3. if you have purchased any upgrades for the blog a transaction number

I believe that is the email of the guy who originally set up my wordpress site. But I would log in with my own personal email. If you send the email to him, however, I can contact him and we can figure it out.
Once I can log in again, can I change the “ownership email” to my own?
That’s the only user on the blog, so I’m not sure how you were able to log in with something else.
Since you have his email address, I recommend getting in touch with him.

Come to find out that the email adm[…] (at) sgblue.com belongs to a client of my former webmaster. He is baffled as to why that is the email associated with my WordPress account.
I have an email from WP for the requested administration email address change to my current address. I’m not sure what went wrong after that.
Is there an easier way to fix this? Would it help if you knew the email address that was supposed to become the new admin address?
