How can I move the sidebar to a subsidiary page?

I want to create a static home page, with a sidebar. and I want the page with the blog entries (the original home page) to appear elsewhere on the menu, WITHOUT a sidebar. I’m using the Twenty Eleven theme.

I can add a sidebar easily to the new home page, by changing the template. However, I can’t get the sidebar off the page with the blog entries except by changing the default layout, which removes the sidebar from ALL pages.

Is it possible to do what I’m trying to do? Will it be possible if I buy the Premium upgrade package?

The blog I need help with is stdavidspokane.wordpress.com.

No, it’s not possible on 2011. Yes, possible if you buy the Custom Design upgrade. Also possible (without the upgrade) on some other themes.

Thanks! We’re planning to buy the upgrade, so that will solve the problem.
