    Hi

    This is my second hurdle with starting WordPress… please help if you can!

    My theme: Sundance
    I just got my custom menu working, with Category pages to group my posts – I just find it a bit unsightly to see “Category Archives” showing up beside my Category heading.

    Where do I find my CSS and how do I modify it???

    Thanks in advance!!
    Karen

    The blog I need help with is singlewomantravel.wordpress.com.

    Do you have the Custom Design upgrade?

    Hi Justpi, Thanks again for trying to help.

    I will buy the CD upgrade as long as I know it will work… as I don’t know what else I will need the CSS to modify…

    I already tried these suggestions from another forum thread but it wasn’t working… or I could’ve made a mistake while copying & pasting. They said:

    You can remove it from the Category Archive pages with the following CSS though.

    .category .single-title h1 {
    display: none;
    }

    You can also increase the size of the “Archive for: Featured” line in the left sidebar and add the word “Category” after the category title with the following. With short category names, the name may end up on the same line as the “Archive for:” text and then the word “Category” on the second line.

    .category .single-description {
    font-size: 180% !important;
    font-weight: bold;
    line-height: 120%;
    }
    .category .single-description:after {
    content: ” Category”;
    }

    First, “.single-title h1” doesn’t target what you’re looking for, it targets the post title on the single post view.
    Second, “.category .single-title h1” seems to be a contradiction in terms (but I could be wrong). Could you please link to where you found this?
    Third and most important, there’s no such selector on Sundance. Each theme has its own selectors, so a code that works on one theme won’t work on a different theme.

    If you wish to preview how you would remove the “Category Archives” part of category page headings on Sundance, paste this into the CSS editor:

    .category .page-title {
    font-size: 0;
    }
    .category .page-title span {
    font-size: 3rem;
    }

    I just tried what you suggested and it totally WORKS!!!
    Thank YOU!!
    I think WordPress should give you a commission for getting me to buy the upgrade!! =)

    p.s. I have one more post on the forum about Sundance, if you know the answer, you’d save me from my current work around!
