    Hi,
I’m using Dyad 2 theme on this site:
    https://campionatofow.wordpress.com/

It’s a website on a championship here in Italy, so every article is a page about an incoming tournament.

The problem is, at the bottom of the page, we have the “older posts” to load more posts. Is it possible to:

    a) narrow or transform in a smaller box every post, so I can have more on the homepage (4 in a row on a standard HD monitor would be awesome

    or

    b) remove the tag and force the theme to load all the posts?

    thanks a lot

    Paolo P.

The blog I need help with is campionatofow.wordpress.com.

    Hi Paulo,

    b) remove the tag and force the theme to load all the posts?

On the Dyad 2 theme, all posts will display without producing an “Older Posts” link if set the posts per page setting is equal to or above the number of posts published. The posts per page setting may be found at My Site(s) > Manage > Settings > Writing > Content Types. However, I wouldn’t recommend setting it too high as doing so might produce loading issues for some of your visitors.

Unlike some themes where clicking the “Older Posts” button at the bottom of the blog page that displays 10 posts, for example, links to page that displays the next 10, on Dyad 2, the “Older Posts” link adds 10 each time it is clicked. If the posts per page setting is 40, then it will load another 40 each time.

According to staff member @thesacredpath in the topic Dyad 2 – Changing look of “Older Posts” button on home page:

As long as you have footer widgets [on Dyad 2], the older posts button will appear. If you were to take the footer widgets away, then it would go back to the full infinite scroll behavior where it loads x more posts each time someone gets near the bottom of the page.

According to the above explanation by @thesacred path, removing the footer widgets produces full infinite scroll behavior. However, on a test site I found that with no footer widgets the posts per page setting will still produce an “Older Posts” button, unless it is set equal to or higher than the number of published posts. So I’m not finding that removing footer widgets changes the behavior at all. I’m going to call for staff attention regarding this issue. Staff will respond here.

    a) narrow or transform in a smaller box every post, so I can have more on the homepage (4 in a row on a standard HD monitor would be awesome

OnDyad 2, the number of posts displayed in a row is responsive to screen size. I know that on smaller screens the number of posts in a row is reduced, to the extent that on a phone the four columns of a two post row (image, content, image, content) seen on a larger screen are reduced to a single column. There is no option in Setting or at Customize that allows you to increasing the number of posts in a row. So, if possible, then it would require CSS customization. You may ask staff about this possibility when they respond here.

Sorry about the several grammatical errors in my first post. Here’s some corrections:

On the Dyad 2 theme, all posts will display without producing an “Older Posts” link if the posts per page setting is equal to or above the number of posts published.

There are no options in Settings or at Customize that allow you to increase the number of posts in a row.

    @staff,

    1. Unlike the effect of removing footer widgets described by @thesacredpath in the topic I linked to in my first post, I found that removing footer widgets had no effect upon whether an “Older Posts” button appears. In my tests the only relevant factors were the following: 1. the number of published posts, and 2. the posts per page setting.

    2. Is it possible with CSS customization to increase the maximum number of posts in a row displayed on the blog page, using the Dyad 2 theme? So given that 2 posts per row (or two columns of posts) display on medium to large size screen, is it possible to double that number with CSS? Or as Paolo asked:

    Is it possible to:

    a) narrow or transform in a smaller box every post, so I can have more on the homepage (4 in a row on a standard HD monitor would be awesome

    Howdy –

I am looking at the theme CSS now to see if it’s possible to increase the number of posts displayed per line with Dyad 2. It certainly not an easy thing as I haven’t figured it out yet. I will keep working and ask around for ideas, will report back.

In any case, CSS customization would require that paglianti upgrade to the premium plan. Those details are here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you do not want to use a custom domain or the other features of the plan it’s probably not worth spending that kind of money on one potential design change on the site.

I am back. As expected this really is a complicated CSS change and it’s beyond the scope of support that we can provide. Even when we change the line to display 4 posts there are numerous other changes that then need to be made, not even considering your mobile views.

If you still want to proceed consider working with an UpWork freelancer. Details here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/upwork/
