I have a blog on wordpress.com and I would like to add a slideshow into the header of the side. Several tutorials show how to do this but this done through uploading a plugin. On my dashboard there is no such tab. Could you please tell me what I need to upgrade to be able to deploy plug ins?

    Thanks,
    Mark

The blog I need help with is jackybaggen.wordpress.com.

There is no FTP access to WordPress.com free hosted blogs. We bloggers cannot install any plugins. Those are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

There is no upgrade that you can purchase from WordPress.com that provides FTP access , the ability to install plugins, third party themes and software into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. If your require plugins you must hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

These are the themes we have that have built in post sliders http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/ A few have a featured post slider that automatically advances: Debut, Currents, On Demand, Modularity Lite, Sight. (the first 3 are premium themes) and the last one is a free theme. Note that Modularity Lite has a front page slideshow.
