How do I add a like button next to links that I include on my blog?

    My blog will soon contain a list of links to other websites mixed in with links to some of my posts. I would like readers who visit my blog to have the option to click ‘like’ next to the links that they liked the most so that the articles/websites that impressed them the most stand out. However, I don’t want them to be pestered or to be forced to share personal information or for a pop-up window to appear asking them to sign in etc., so I can’t use the facebook like button or any of the standard ‘like’ buttons that are out there. Is there any way of making a button that just registers that it has been clicked once, takes a note of the IP address or something to prevent someone from clicking it loads of times, and doesn’t insist on showing the name of the person who clicked it? I would rather avoid setting up a ratings system as I don’t want people in a grump to come along and just 1 star everything, hence my preference for a ‘like’ button.
    Blog url:

    The blog I need help with is

    <!– Place this tag where you want the +1 button to render. –>
    <div class=”g-plusone”></div>

    <!– Place this tag after the last +1 button tag. –>
    <script type=”text/javascript”>
    window.___gcfg = {lang: ‘bn’};

    (function() {
    var po = document.createElement(‘script’); po.type = ‘text/javascript’; po.async = true;
    po.src = ‘’;
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);

    I want to add this HTML code in my blog for google + button . But i can’t add this. How can I add. Please help me.

    @mrbappy, you need to read this support page on the difference between and self-hosted sites. We cannot use javascript at for security reasons.

    @fandexes, that is not possible at WordPress provide sharing/like links for posts and pages, but not for use with individual links and such within the content.

    @mrbappy, see the link above that I provided for the sharing that provides. You can add services to the system as well.

    I have read on the support pages that this is how we bring suggestions to the attention of the staff at wordpress, and given that I’m not the only person wanting something like this and it is very simple to install, I reckon it’s a reasonable request to make, don’t you?

    I’d have to think about that. Liking a link in a post would be like going to the linked site and liking it there, which is what I would do rather than to like a link in someone else’s post. But that is me.

    Generally suggestions should go in the “ideas” forum. I’ll tag this to have it moved over there and hopefully staff will see it and put it on the list. No guarantee they will add this functionality or if they do, when.

    Not all sites have a like button to do this, and even if they did, it would be impossible to tell which ones are the most popular without constantly pestering everyone who is linked to to find out how many likes they’ve received recently.

    In this case there are a lot of homemade rules for playing a tabletop game, and some rules are better-written than others, although which rules are better is a matter of personal taste. So I’d like to not only add my rules but link to others and that way a consensus can be reached as to which is best and what needs improving. I am very surprised to discover that wordpress is incapable of this when even the most basic of its competitors can carry out this simple task.

    I’ve found the ratings part of the widget, so all that needs doing is the ability to place it on a post, or at least the option of hiding the thumbs down:
