How do i add hover text to an image i have

  1. I wondered if it was possible to add hover text to an image we have on our blog in a quick and simple fashion ?
    I heard you need to use HTML to achieve this and see how i am truly a HTML novice so is there a standard HTML text we can use and just replace the words ? is that possible ?

  2. Hi there,

    I would be happy to help you.

    Yes, it's possible to have Hover Text to an image on you blog.

    You can use below HTML code and update your blog posts wherever required,

    <img title="This is simple hover text" src="" alt="something" />

    You just need to add *title* attribute to your existing *img* tags with whatever text you need.

    Here's a screenshot of how it would look,

    Hope this helps.

  3. Thanks Pratik,

    that was easier than i imagined.

    thank you

  4. Hi there,

    I just want to add that it's more important to have Alt text set on your image than a title attribute. Screen readers for those with visual impairments and search engines look at the Alt text, not hover text. Hover text is completely invisible to screen readers, so make sure to always set an Alt tag.

    If you want to add descriptions of images to provide context I'd recommend using captions for that instead.

  5. thank you and noted, i will ensure i do this as well.
