How do I cancel my domain mapping for a domain purchased elsewhere

  1. I want to cancel my domain mapping for a domain purchased elsewhere (at, which is currently mapped to a blog. How do I do this? I have changed my primary domain back to the . There is no "cancel" option that shows up in "My Upgrades". The domain was purchased elsewhere (at, which is currently mapped to . Its due to renew on 9th August and we want to point it elsewhere, and cancel this upgrade renewal. HELP?

The blog I need help with is

  2. Although has been registered, it is not using nameservers. If your domain is mapped to a self-hosted site, then your configuration may be fine as currently set up.

To disable autorenew, provided you are logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades go to > Store > My Upgrades and click the "disable auto-renew" link.

  3. Hi there,

Please note that everything @timethief has stated is correct. The domain: is not using our nameservers so it is no longer pointing to In order to disable the auto-renewal and remove the Domain Mapping upgrade you must be logged into the account that originally purchased this upgrade.

Please note that the account under this username (koojchuhan) is not the one that purchased this upgrade, so it wouldn't show up when you go to Store > My Upgrades. Please contact the person who manages the account that purchased the upgrade to remove it from their Store > My Upgrades page.

  4. Many thanks. The My Upgrades section now has oddly changed the renewal date to Sept 8th (a month later) and also now says its "expiring" rather than "renewing". So maybe its sorted, I don't know, but we have more time now anyway. The person who purchased that upgrade is on holiday so we will get on to this when she is back.

  5. Hi there,

Okay - sounds great. Feel free to reach back if you have any questions after speaking with the upgrade owner!

  6. Right - the person who purchased the domain mapping upgrade is back from holiday and sent me a screen-shot of her My Upgrades section of the blog. It says "Status: Expired". It also says "DNS needs to be updated", Finally it also says "Enable Auto Renew" - which I think must mean the auto-renew has been disabled already. If that is correct, then I assume the upgrade will cease to operate after Sept 8th and it will simply remain as a blog.

If so then great, thanks so much for your help, and this thread can be closed.

  7. Yes - it should expire after September 8th!
