How do I change blog title and have it match with URL
I changed the title of my blog to Reformation Renewal. It was Reformed Bibliophile. Oh, and I am using the hosted version – WordPress.com. Problem is that i keep trying to go to settings > general > then I change the title and save it. This is not working. Whenever I type in the old name – “Reformed Bibliophile – it pops up on Google, and still has my domain name attached. I want to get Reformed Bibliophile off of Google, etc….And then I would like to be able to type in the new title – Reformation Renewal – and have it appear on Google with http://www.erictyoung.com.
The blog I need help with is erictyoung.com.
I don’t think that you have a WordPress problem.
There might be a Google catchup issue: Google needs to catch up with the fact that your blog title is now “Reformation Renewal.”
I think that your main problem is that “Reformation Renewal” is a search engine term with a lot of prior occupants. Your blog may have to take its place in search results behind such incumbents as “VirtueOnline… the world’s largest Orthodox Anglican Internet News Service, serving 1000’s of readers.”
That’s absolutely correct. As far as Google is concerned, you have a new blog they never saw before with no links going to it, so you start again from zero. It’ll take time to build back up and push your “old self” off Google
You’re welcome, Eric, and hi, Rain.
Howdy. Always good to see some new, competent people in the forum!
I changed my blog title to “my name”, Darrah Ford, hoping my name on Google would be number one linking to my blog. But it didn’t work but instead still leads to my Myspace and Twitter accounts. And the template I picked has my name on the byline too but still no luck. Because I always heard if you pick a template with your name in the byline, that it helps Google in indexing your name and be number one, Any ideas as to how my blog can be number one with my name instead of Myspace and Twitter? Thanks!
