how do I change the link in the "header image"

  1. I am new to CSS. I am trying to figure out how I can change the image link of my header to another site. Currently it is liked to the blog/home page. I would like to link it to an external site that is a store.

    Is that possible?

    thank you for your help

    The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi,

    Links can't be changed with CSS, unfortunately.

  3. Thank you for the reply.

    If it is not possible to change it through CSS is there anyway that it is possible to change the link associated with the "header image"

  4. Hi, not directly through CSS. You can in some instances move a text widget with a blank transparent PNG image up into the header area over the existing, but it doesn't work well on responsive width themes like you are using, and also requires that a widget area is on each page/post in the site.

  5. I think you could do it with just a link without a blank transparent PNG, but the trick is to get access to a link that's always available on every page.

    I looked at and I see you have some social media links at the top left — so here's a very tricky attempt at moving one of them over the top of the header image so you can see how something like this might work if you added a link in a footer or somewhere else:

    .social-links {
    	position: static;
    .social-links .pinterest-link a {
    	text-align: left;
    	text-indent: -9999px;
    	position: absolute;
    	width: 2000px;
    	height: 141px;
    	top: 80px;
    .social-links .pinterest-link a:hover {
    	background: none;
  6. How's it going? Do you still need any help with ? I checked it out just now and I think it looks really great! But I also noticed you didn't try the header image link trick. Let us know if you still need help.

  7. I don't quite understand how to get the social media link to be over top of the header link. Like where do I put that code. I do really like the idea and appreciate the help. I am just sort of a novice at this. Thank you all so much. I will continue to try to assimilate your suggestions.

  8. It is a bit tricky! You would add the code to the CSS editor in the Appearance > Customize > CSS panel in your blog dashboard.

    Now, keep in mind I used the Pinterest link you already have on your blog as an example, so it's a starting point but not finished yet. If you want to try it out, I was thinking you could add your link to any one of the currently unused link fields in Appearance > Customize > Theme Options in the Singl theme and then I could see what I can come up with to try to adjust that one. If you're willing to give it ago, go ahead and add your link and then I'll help you with a CSS example specific to what you add.

    This request looks like a good challenge. :)
