how do I create a pop up

  1. Hi ,

How do I create a pop up subscribing page to my channel when you click on my blog ?

    thank you

The blog I need help with is lorenrubaud.com.

  2. Hello!

If you are looking at a solution to enable your blog readers to follow your blog, you can use the "Following blogs" feature available in WordPress.com sites. You can read more about it here. https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#how-to-follow-blogs

If you're actually hoping for a secondary pop-up window, that function requires script that isn't allowed on WordPress.com-hosted sites. If it's important to you that your site behaves in this manner, you may want to consider moving to a self-hosted version of WordPress on an outside server. If you are self-hosted, there are plugins you can install to create popups.

If you're interested in learning the differences between hosting your site here, with WordPress.com, and self-hosting via WordPress.org, take a look at this link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you have questions.

  3. Hi there, Looking at your site I do see a "pop up" subscription box in the footer. Were you able to resolve this?

As it looks like you have a paid upgrade on your site, you also have access to direct support from Staff by live chat or email. You can contact them via the contact form at https://wordpress.com/help/contact when you are logged in to the username account that purchased the upgrade. Thanks

  4. For anyone else looking for a pop-up subscription form, WordPressdotcom has a special widget for Mail Chimp, which you can learn more about here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/mailchimp/

  5. @strikebuys Thanks for your help here and Welcome to volunteering in the Community Support forums for WordPressdotcom sites.

If you haven't seen it yet, you might want to take a look at this support guide for forum volunteers. It has lots of valuable tips and info https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/

Again, thanks for taking time out of your day to help out in the forums. :)

  6. Again, thanks for taking time out of your day to help out in the forums. :)

    My pleasure, @justjennifer. Thanks!

  7. How do I create a pop up subscribing page to my channel when you click on my blog ?

Could you tell us a bit more what you mean by "channel"? Once we know what you're trying to do exactly, we can provide better help. :)

The only pop-up widget included is the MailChimp newsletter one that Jennifer pointed out above, but...

If you're actually hoping for a secondary pop-up window, that function requires script that isn't allowed on WordPress.com-hosted sites.

Just wanted to make a small correction here - if you upgrade to the Business plan, you can install a plugin that would create a pop-up, or you could add custom code to do the same.

Just let us know if we can help further!
