How do I find a lost draft?

I was working on a post, and had an idea for a new one. So I selected save draft on the post I was working on, and then clicked on the button for a new post. I saved the second one too. However, when I went to find the first post in drafts it wasn’t there, nor was it in the trash or published or anywhere else. Where/ how can I find the original post?

The blog I need help with is

I am having a similar problem with the Save Draft button. I started a post of Feb 2 and have been updating it almost every day. I hit Save Draft religiously after every new sentence.

However, none of the work I did today has been saved! I hit Save Draft a few minutes ago and WP returned some kind of error with a Try Again link. I hit try again and it failed again. I tried to use the Back button but it displayed a version of my post from two days ago! Where are all of my changes from today? The latest entry in the Revisions list is from Feb 8. Two days ago? WTF? Where did all of the changes I saved today go?

Please be sure you are running one of the browser versions here first.

You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post.

If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it’s not in your Trash folder then you will not be able to recover it.

Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did you create your post on the front page of!/post/

Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or use an offline blog editor so you always have backups on your own computer

I was able to locate my disappearing draft by going into my browser’s web history. I may have only been able to find it because I selected preview before I closed out, but it’s worth a shot.
