When others try to access my blog, they get a session expired code 808 message. How do I fix this? I am using wordpress for graduate course I am teaching, and many of my students have the same problem. I have used blogspot for my courses prior to this, and have never had such a problem. Please help. We are not computer programmers.
How many students are actually active when logged in? Are they logging in and then walking away leaving their computers logged in? This is an AJAX keepalive script that’s used to keep sessions alive on a web server by polling it every minute (using POST requests to avoid caching). The page itself is not reloaded, the requests to the server are happening in the background. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
Is the website you’re experiencing difficulties with http://pennypence.wordpress.com/ or a different site? Are they all logging in from the same location? Do they always get the error message, or is it intermittent? Do you have firewall or other security software installed on the computers that give this error?
Can you send me a screenshot for the error message that others are seeing? You can upload the screenshot to your WordPress.com blog so that I can see it.
