How do I get my picture to show up as an avatar (not gravatar)
I already uploaded a gravatar, but I wasn’t aware this was not going to show up as my regular blogger profile pic, as so far I have none and have no clue how to upload one. I really don’t know what the gravatar is even for, but I noticed when I commented on another blogger’s article, my name just had a blank pic next to it. I don’t know why my gravatar picture didn’t just show up there. So how do I just upload a regular avatar picture? Why is this site so confusing?
The blog I need help with is metalgrinch.wordpress.com.
Settings > General >
on top right hand corner of screen, it will say
Blog Picture / Icon
upload an image.
I tried that but there is no “general” option when I go into settings. The only thing I see in settings is the option to change my username, email address, web address, interface language, and option of entering my mobile number. There is nothing about uploading an image at all. I’m going from the initial intro page. Unless there is another settings tab I’m not seeing. But thank you
Sounds like you went to a different general settings, I was talking about general setting in Dashboard, it’s the last item at the bottom on left side of the screen.

Ok i found it. I can change my site title, tagline, email, and time zone settings. On the bottom i see my gravatar pic already uploaded, under blog picture/icon. There must be something wrong bc that pic isnt showing up as my pic. As you can see from these posts, it still has the general grey pic.
For best practices for uploading gravatars, avatars and blavatars scroll down to below the video here: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/24/gravatar-avatar-blavatar/
Note: Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change. Do not keep uploading! The first place they tend to display is here in the forums. If several days have passed and that change is not in evidence then post here for Gravatar support > http://en.gravatar.com/site/contact-us/
