how do i move my blog without wasting my money

  1. hi, I have a domain hosted with 1and1 in the UK and wanted to start a blog and website for it. as i had limited knowledge, i came to and set up an account for (i paid the premium to remove the wordpress), i then also paid for a bundle to give me additional features and have started adding content. I have now realised that I probably should have gone to my web host and completed a one click instal for and then pointed my existing domain to it. Is there any way that i can move everything over to my existing 1and1 account and not lose both my content and of course the money that i spent?

The blog I need help with is

  2. There is a 30 day refund period for most upgrades -except domain registration

Most of what you have done here will move - if you did any CSS work - that won't transfer and your widgets will need to be redone on your WordPress.ORG install - your content (Posts and Pages) should move just fine

    This should help:

  3. Thank you,

so it sounds like I have lost the money on the bundle I purchased as I believe that would have been done early january.

I am not convinced that i want to spend more money on a guided transfer although that would be exactly what i would want - is there any way my bundle could be offset against this? I want this to go as smoothly as possible.

  4. I am not staff so I don't really know about any offsets - you could plead temporary insanity I guess :) and maybe the staff would extend some of the refund period a few days - I will flag this for the staff to help

  5. Hi Al, you purchased the $99 bundle on 2012-12-31 so it's past the refund window, I am afraid.

This guide will step you through the process of moving your blog to a instance:

And of course we have the Guided Transfer service if you want a Happiness Engineer to handle the migration process for you:
