How do I put a post under my tab in Greyzed theme??
I am trying to get certain posts to show up on my home page and under one of my menu tabs but it’s not working. Is it possible in this theme?
The blog I need help with is kassienetteskorner.com.
It’s critical for you to understand that it’s not the static pages that we bloggers create that will update. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ Static pages cannot and will not automatically update. Delete the static pages you created. Then create a custom menu and add the dynamic (continuously updating) Categories pages to it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Here’s a link to a custom menu walkthrough > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-com-custom-menu-walk-through/
There are many common errors, misunderstanding and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
I have read up on all of that in the past week. A friend of mine who blogs with WP was just helping me with it and she couldn’t understand why I couldn’t do what I wanted to do.
My friend who blogs is able to create posts that show up on the home page and then move them under one of her menu tabs. That is what I am trying to do. I want followers to be able to see some of my posts that I wrote a while back without having to scroll through weeks of posts.
I understand that posts and pages are different.
This wording is totally confusing.

Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize Posts by assigning categories to them.
You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic (continuously updating) Categories pages to it.
You can also add indivual post URLs as to the custom menu as custom links > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-custom-links
Can you look at her blog danithedreamgirl.com and view her menu? For example, she has a drop down called interviews. Some of her interviews appeared on her home page as well as under her interview page. I’m very visual so all of this wording without me having something to actually look at is confusing me. Sorry! Thanks for being patient!
I tried the adding categories thing. It shows up under my menu headers as the category name and no the name of the post which is what I want.
For example, Just Kickin It will be interviews I do. When I do these interviews I want them to show up on the home page but I also want them to show up under Just Kickin It so followers can go back and view the interviews I have done. I’m pretty sure it’s simple to do but I’m missing it some how.
I want you to go here and read what you find > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOO!! I think I have it!! So I can make a post, copy the link, drop it into custom links and then add it under the menu tab that I want it to show up under, right?
Thank you so much! I’m sure I probably frustrated you but I greatly appreciate your patience :-}.
One last question, is there a way to put what category the post shows up in at the bottom of the post instead of the top? Or is that just how this theme does it?

We cannot edit templates or themes. The only way to move that would be to purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ and do the required CSS editing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/
Ok. Cool. Thanks again. Have a great day!!
You too. :)
