How do I remove the side features I don’t need

    I have been trying to remove the archives, categories, blogroll, and meta boxes from my pages. Someone please help!!! I have trying to figure this out all day. I also need to change the background grey color on the site. Its too dark for me and I wanted to try 2 different colors.

    It’s easy. As soon as you go to Appearance->Widgets and put something in the sidebar, all the default set of widgets is wiped out. Then you just remove the widget you added and save the changes.

    You will not be able to make substantial changes to the appearance of the blog without learning CSS and purchasing the paid CSS upgrade. Note that there is no official support for it, and hardly any of the volunteers know how to use CSS, so you’re pretty much on your own with it. Do not buy it if you don’t already know CSS.
