How long to show up on Google Reader?

  1. Ok so I got my account yesterday at this time and both Google Reader and Feedburner don't recognize my subscription. How long before Google finds this new account? I'm putting it it like: What am I doing wrong? I have my settings open to feeds and I can find help on any support and forum posts. HELP!

    I published a blog post on exactly this topic of getting your blog indexed by search engines yesterday because so many people were confused about why their virtually empty blogs could not be found when searching Google.     Just a suggestion:

    A disclaimer should be on the intro email you receive from wordpress. It's important for newbies to know that they won't be able to set up a portable RSS feed immediately. It would be good if newbies didn't have to search the globe for this particular question the way I worded it.

    FWIW all of our blogs do have RSS feeds for both entries (posts) and for comments.

  6. In addition we do have this:
    The RSS Links Widget allows you to easily add links to your blog’s post and comment RSS feeds in your sidebar. This will provide your readers with a quick way to obtain your blog feed URLs and subscribe to them as they wish (via a web browser or RSS reader, like Google Reader).

  7. Right and I get that. I'm just saying that google reader or feedburner don't recognize those entries ( yet. Am I missing something or does this go back to the 4-6 week dealy?

    > Settings > Privacy

    checkmark this line below and then click "Save Changes".

    Results: Your blog is working. Your feeds are working.

    Your blog has not yet been indexed and that will take 4 - 6 weeks.
    You only have one post published.
