How many of you have done this......?

  1. Accidentally pressed "publish" when your half way through writing a post. Oh God! I just did, so now all my followers will imagine I've gone completely bonkers. Half was written in third and the rest in first person POV.
Pardon me while I go and quietly shoot myself!!!

  2. I've done this many times.

  3. "Preview" and "Publish" - some times there is not enough room between the two . . . .

  4. ..... and sometimes I'm editing and writing waaaaay late at night when good girls ought to be snug in bed not typing while half asleep....

It happens.... and then you "reschedule" that post.... Probably does confuse followers though.... Hehehe!!

No but I had one publish itself, that was funny, no words, just a picture, it was the shortest poem ever :D

  6. When you're tired, "preview" and "publish" are literally the same words ;p

n Personal Settings II have the box ticked to show the feedback and progress sidebar to show after posting. Only on the post I mention above was anything ever published on its own without this sidebar popping up. I only noticed that it had been published when I saw someone had been in to view it, and I wondered how they could have as I had not published it. That was a puzzle.

Every other post has shown this sidebar only when I publish, and so far I've never hit the publish button prior to the time I had finished a post completely and was ready to, and I wanted to, thankfully! ......

    there's time tho' yet lol!

  8. Almost happens to me from time to time. But it was because I wanted to click 'save', not 'preview'. I rarely use 'preview'. Maybe because english is not my first language.

  9. You can easily take the post down. Copy and paste it into a Word or other text document next time, so that you don't publish until you're ready. It's probably happened to almost everyone at some point!

All of us, sooner or later. If you haven't done this, it's because you're too careful.

It's a blog, not a stone tablet. Let fly.

I try not to publish late at night because that is when I tend to make mistakes. I will often press the wrong button and I sometimes make stupid links that go nowhere. Often I will write at night and not remember what I wrote. I will read it in the morning and be surprised.

  12. I never did this but I agree with Raincoaster.

  13. This is the comfort of having a blog that's not heavily trafficked. You can publish by accident and still have time to fix it before people see it. :)

  14. I once blogged something about Natalie Portman. I thought she'd made a completely bigoted statement, and I called it "Natalie Portman: BIGOT" and hit Publish and within ten seconds I'd thought "gee, have I completely misinterpreted that quote" and sure enough I had, but in those ten or fifteen seconds it had been submitted to Stumbleupon and 400 people had read it.

I updated that damn thing INSTANTLY.

Seriously, if you haven't made an ass of yourself on the internet you haven't been around long.

  15. I never had more than 10 views from Stumbleupon but I know how instant it is.

  16. I think I've done it twice - once with a drat I wasn't sure I was even going to publish!

So yep, we've all done it - ot if wew haven't yet, it is only a matter of time.

Raincoaster - you need to read more slowly, perhaps? LOL

  17. @isadz
No the most of them are 14. :D

  18. @raincoaster. Lol. Thanks. I feel better all ready. But I doubt if the post had that many views. I trashed it immediately. But that was some clanger you dropped there. :)
