How to Add Google Adsense to My WordPress?

    I have noticed that WordPress does not allow Javascript in its text widgets; this creates a problem: how can I use the code given to me by Google for my adsense banner, which is a JavaScript code, when WordPress does not allow JavaScript?
    Is there someway of getting an HMTL only version of the code? Is there just something I’m missing/doing wrong?
