What do you want to add to your sidebar?
We need a bit more detail!

This is your site in a clickable format?

How about adding a photo to the side bar? It asks for a specific URL, but I don’t have one and there doesn’t seem to be a place to upload a photo from my desktop. :) Any help would be appreciated

Virtually everything we place in a sidebar is inside a widget. This post expalins how to place an image from your desktop inside a text widget in your sidebar by the easiest method I know of. You will create a draft post first, then copy and paste the code from it into a text widget, and go back and delete the draft post after you see the image display correctly in your sidebar.

And to use the image widget, go to media > add new, upload the image and when it finishes uploading, grab the URL from the bottom of that window and then you can put that image in the image widget.

If you want a photo in your sidebar, then you would use a text widget.

The easiest way if you normally use the visual editor to make your posts is to make a new draft post.

You will have to upload the image you want to the new draft post, just as you normally would when you make any post, but keep in mind that your sidebar is narrow so make the image small enough to fit your sidebar. You’ll have to experiment, but start with an image 200 px wide.

You can add a caption or text to the draft post.

Once you get it the way you like it, switch the visual editor to the html editor and copy all the code.

Go to “Appearance” > “Widgets” —> select and drag a “Text Widget” to your sidebar.

Write a title if you like.
Paste the code into the text widget.
    View your blog.

    That should work.

If you have difficulties dragging and dropping the text widget into your sidebar, then move your cursor to the upper right of the screen and choose “screen options” then click on “Enable accessibility mode.” Use the “add” on the bar of the text widget. Paste the code and save.

    2. How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.

    from here:

    thanks for your help.

lol … :D The instructions Tess gave you are the same as the ones I linked to in my post above hers — too many cooks ? lol … :D

As you are new you ought to consider reading these entries in the support documentation:

    Happy blogging :)

    again thanks I will

    Great – happy blogging :)
