I want to change my front page from a static page back to the default type – which shows my most recent posts. i am completely lost. There is only info for creating a static page when I search google and this forum.

I have deleted my original home page which was static, and now have no luck adding a page called Home and trying to make that “show latest posts.” If I choose to preview – a apge shows up with my basic URL with these most recent posts, but I have no way of changing the URL of my newly added “home” page to the basic address. Every time I try to delete “/home” from that page’s URL, it put it back when I hit OK.

Please help. I just want a “Home” page that has my most recent posts, and shows no page characteristics (something I typed) Can’t believe I’m not figuring this out.

The blog I need help with is

Sorry folks. Very frustrated, and the only thing I didn’t try was selecting the blank menu choice in the Menu page of your dashboard. I had made a custom menu, which somehow did not allow me to choose a “home” page as the default style updates page.

Still not sure why that didn’t work, but at this point, the blog is back to where I want it, so I will leave well enough alone.

This is the result of clicking your username: is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog.

We cannot even begin to help you without you posting an active link to the blog in question starting with http://

    Hi there,
We were typing at the same time. Would you like to link your primary blog to your username? It’s easy to do. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

Sorry about that – when i saw it list the current blog in the question post section, figured that was all set. Just changed it, thanks. I just figured out the whole custom menu relationship to the front page and how the top menu appears.

Man, I wanted to rip my hair out!

Thanks so much for the response. I think my setting are all corrct too now, as well as the set-up of my blog.

No problem. Now I see the blog linked to your username and wearing the Greyzed theme. A custom menu allows you to display Categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages and Custom Links in your custom menu as well.

    These are the how-to instructions:
    How to create Pages >
How to create a custom menu.

1.You add the Categories you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.

    2. Then you add and drop and drag the sub-categories below the appropriate Categories.

    3. You add the Pages you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.

    4. Then you add and drop and drag the sub-pages (child pages) below the appropriate parent Pages.

    5. You add the custom links you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.

    6. When you have everything arranged in the menu that you want you save the menu.

    7. Go to the “theme location” module at upper left on the menu page. Select your custom menu name from the pull-down labeled “primary location.” Click the save button in that module.

    8. Refresh your browser so that it isn’t possibly pulling a cached page, and view see your new menu with Parent pages and dropdowns to sub-pages.

Thanks so much! Took advantage of the sub menu option as well. Makes for a much cleaner, tighter page.

You’re welcome and best wishes with your blog. :)
