The categories will always show in alphabetical order. You can add a number to the beginning of each category. That is all I have to offer as a way to reorder them.

is there another way to list them?

You could create your own categories widget using a text widget and then update it whenever you created a new category.

In addition, you’ll need to format the links to your category pages as an unordered list.

And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

If a person with a wp.com blog wants to order categories, you can use a variation of the alphabetical order by using punctuation or other symbols (using the option key on macs and other html codes). Unfortunately, I don’t have any sort of useful guide for doing this. It might look ok for a few categories, but if you have many, then it will look odd.

im interested in subject. I understood that i have to use C1 and C2 for Chapter1 and Chapter 2. Still…. It’s any way to show categories in a hierarchical way? My blog is a tutorial and categories means chapters (and sub-chapters) to me. Tks.

We need a link to your blog, starting with http, in order to give applicable answers.

    Hi,

I have been able to order categories as I want using invisible unicode characters (‎ for instance) but this is as ugly as weird.

It would be far more easier to have a number as in photos galleries.
