How to change the date in the top/left corner of the main page

I searched the entire site and you would think something as simple and obvious as updating the date would be explained, but I could not figure that one out for life of me.

My blog currently reads January 30, even though I often update the page.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE DATE TO A MORE CURRENT DATE?

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is wilcoxrb99.wordpress.com.

This is a post and the original date of publication of that post is embedded in the URL of the post

What are you editing the same post over and over again?
Why don’t you create an new post for each update so they reflect the correct dates?

Please do not SHOUT! into the faces of those who are here to help you.

If you don’t give a ding dong about Google indexing and could care less if anyone finds your posts by using search engines you can edit the date stamp. This is why it’s not a good idea to change date stamps http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/05/avoid-creating-404-pages/

If you want to do that anyway, I know you are not scheduling a post but look at the images here please so your know what to click in the Publish module to change the date. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

    Hello Time theif,

    Very SORRY ! ! !

Ha, I did not mean to shout. Thanks for your help.

The reason I am editing the post over and over again is because I want to use it as an archive for articles, not as an ongoing log as such.

When I write articles that are posted at various websites, I refer readers to this blog site which archives the articles.

If I start a new post each time how will readers find previous articles as each page would be separate would it not?

    Many thanks,

    Richard

I have looked closely at what you are doing. By default the front page of the blog displays all posts. You can put and Archives widget in the sidebar to provide access to all posts. In fact is you assigned Categories and/or Tags to each separate entry then the Categories and Tags widgets would also provide access to all posts they were assigned to.

Pardon my typos please. I’m visually challenged, very tired and cringing now that I can see them.

No problem at all. I’m almost off work and ready to eat dinner. Best wishes to you.
