Hi, I’m seeking help for my site: chuslife.com. I would like to change the appearance of the featured post at the top to something that looks cleaner, such as in the Spatial theme: https://spatialdemo.wordpress.com/

I’m currently using the Veni theme and like everything else about it except how the featured posts look.

Is it possible to change it?

    Thank you in advance!

The blog I need help with is chuslife.com.

    Hi there,

All the themes use a different design and it is not possible to bring the design of Spatial theme in Veni theme.

For such a change, you need to change the theme files which is only possible in WordPress.com Business plan using a child theme.

The other option is to choose a theme which has a design to your liking.

    Hi there,

What exactly do you mean by “cleaner”? If you tell us exactly what you want to change we can advise you whether or not it’s possible using custom CSS. But what I understand as “cleaner” might not be how you understand it, and we have no way of knowing what aspects of the Spatial design you’re looking to replicate.

Also note that your Premium Plan gives you access to CSS help via live chat and direct email support if you click on the help icon in the My Sites pages. You don’t need to post to the public support forums for help.

@yashitamittal11, please make sure exactly what someone is trying to do first before pushing them to a complicated option like a child theme. This is the custom CSS forum, so it’s safe to assume the OP is looking for a CSS fix :)

All the themes use a different design and it is not possible to bring the design of Spatial theme in Veni theme.

That is not accurate. It is certainly possible in some cases to use custom CSS to modify an aspect of one theme to be similar in appearance to another. That is what CSS does – control how a site looks. CSS cannot change how a theme works, but that’s not what the OP is asking. They only want to change how the featured content area, that already exists in their theme, looks, so it might be possible.

@kokkieh: Thanks for the feedback :)
Will take care to ask for more details from the user next time.
