How to Create a page WITHOUT any sidebars, header, etc.
First of all, I love wordpress.
My issue is that I need to be able to create just a single page inside of my website without any sidebars or headers or anything. Is that possible? I want it to be editable within wordpress (so not an external page) but just without the ‘other’ stuff.
Thanks for your help!
I think you need to pay to use CSS in order to do that, otherwise you have to use the provided themes.
hm… you would have to disable the relevant css-elements on that particular page. I am not sure if wordpress will let you do that.
I don’t think it will. However, you should be able to use Google Pages to do something like that, and just link to it. Won’t be editable within WordPress.com though.
Okay, so essentially any pages or posts are ‘locked’ into the established templates?
Another thing, is it okay to post links to my site so that you can see what I’m talking about?
It’s necessary. In fact, I was wondering if our advice applied to you, since at least 25% of the queries we get are from blogs not hosted here.
Okay check out the community pages at http://www.airsoftica.com and you’ll see what I’m going for. Thanks raincoaster!
erhm – I don’t see what you mean… What I see is the same page, but with forum ..
The forum is very very squished. Ideally I want to be able to remove the sidebars from that page.
Aha! Then I’d suspect you must host forum elsewhere. But I’m not 100% sure.
You certainly cannot put a forum on WordPress.com. It just doesn’t work that way. You have to host it elsewhere.
But again I say, we need a link to YOUR blog. We need to see what kind of WordPress it is. Could be that NONE of what we’ve said here applies to you.
I might be a little confused, and here’s where you can help me. Airsoftica is my site, powered by wordpress. Is there another place I should look for support? What’s the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress?
Sorry katm I was writing my reponce while you we’re posting
so I didn’t see your post…
No problem. They say great minds think alike…
Hey all, thanks for your help, sorry about wasting your time. Hopefully this happens frequently (then I’ll feel a bit less dumb).
You wouldn’t believe how frequently it happens :-)
At least 25% of the time.
