How To Delete Custom Header

I have added a custom header in Appearance -> Header. Then I decided I didn’t like it and deleted said header. Now I have an empty image box where the header used to be. I want to go back to how it was originally with no header at all (i.e. the content was 200px higher than it is now and there was no empty image box.)

Recreated the issue in the Bueno theme, create custom header, delete custom header, empty image box.

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is mjbworks.wordpress.com.

There seems to be a new feature that allows you to use a previously uploaded header, but seems to interfere with reclaiming the header area once the header is removed. Same thing happened to me on my test blog using Modularity Lite and Bueno as well, but there I was also getting a broken image icon.

Please report this directly to Support and feel free to point them at this thread. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Does anyone know how long it takes for staff to respond (even just to say ”we’re working on it”)? I’m having the same problems with the Modularity Lite theme and I emailed Support yesterday.

I’m sorry but we Volunteers don’t have an answer to that question. We have no idea what Staff’s work load is or how long it takes for them to respond to support tickets.

I understand that Volunteers do not know what Staff’s work load is, I’m just wondering if in the past, what was people’s experience as far as when they get a response.

Let me ask a slightly different question, when submitting a ticket to Support, does WordPress’ system automatically send out an email saying, “Your submission has been received and someone will review it”? I did not get an email so I do not know how long I should wait before assuming they didn’t receive my request for support.

I’m wondering if this is a case of the automated email being sent and ending up in your email spam folder. Please check there and see it you locate it.

I check my spam folder daily and didn’t find it.

I’m sorry but you will have to wait until Staff can get to your issue.

Since it seems that Staff are still away tinkering with the contact form, I’ve marked this for their attention.

Same problem here with the Modularity Lite theme.

Staff has responded to me, they’re working on it. It seems that the problem exists in Chrome, Safari and IE but not Firefox.

I am using Firefox 3.6.17 and I do see a custom header image on the blog linked to your username. Which browser and version of it are you using?

You could have a browser issue so try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookiesinstructions for specific browsers.

If that does not work then be aware that there is a problem with both at least Bueno and Modularity Lite that only Staff can fix. See this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-delete-custom-header?replies=11

We’ve fixed the Modularity Lite issue and are currently investigating the problem with Bueno.
