As I’ve said in topic title my question is: How to display one single random post on home page?

I mean I don’t want to use the loop. I want to be able to display on my blog’s index.php a random post and not the current post. Is it possible?

Nope, not on WordPress.com. The only way to display a random post is to set as the front page the randomizer. You’d set that on your Dashboard, where you set a static front page to display.

You cannot get to your blog’s php files on WordPress.com

Ok. Thanks raincoaster for your quick answer. But if I host my blog on my domain (using WordPress as a cms blogging software)?

Is there a plugin or something to help me?

Maybe, but as per the thread marked Read Me First, you need to be asking over at WordPress.org. They’re two different kinds of software.
