How to display post excerpts in feed

    Hi!

I’ve looked at other forum posts to understand how to do this, but I’m still rather confused. On my main posts page (‘Blog’ tab), and the categorized posts (under the ‘media’ tab) I would like the articles posted to have only a small excerpt of text visible. Right now the full posts are in view, beginning to end, which has become a hassle to scroll through. What I want to have shown is the short excerpt with [Full article…] or something similar that directs readers to the full post.

This page exemplifies what I would like to see: http://www.beattystreetpublishing.com/in-the-media/

Request to see my site and I will add you!

The blog I need help with is greenspiritstrategies.wordpress.com.

Go here > Settings Reading and select “summary”
Syndication feeds show the most recent – items
For each article in a feed, show
    Full text
    Summary
That’s for the RSS feed only and does not affect what display on the main page for posts in the blog.

To create excerpts of post on the main page of the blog instert “the more tag” into your posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Note this please. What is displayed on Categories pages and on Archives pages is theme dependent and cannot be changed. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/
