On Kickstarter it says the code is….

    <iframe frameborder=”0″ height=”410px” src=”http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/939256333/fiji-mermaid-film-project/widget/video.html” width=”480px”></iframe>

but it does not work for me

The blog I need help with is amusingthezillion.com.

iframes, script and other code is not allowed for security reasons:

thank you! I was not familiar with the phrase “iframes.” I will email the filmmaker and ask him to put the vid on vimeo or YouTube

This could be useful too if you run into a similar problem in the future:

I’m actually surprised the website in question does not give an Embed code instead. Perhaps because the video will not play if it’s called by other domains than their own? I’ll let you sort it out with the filmmaker.

You can copy the video code from the source code of the page and turn it into a shortcode as shown in the post airodyssey linked to. In this case the shortcode is:

    [gigya src="http://www.kickstarter.com/swf/player.swf" flashvars="lightcolor=00ff00&image=http%3A%2F%2Fs3.amazonaws.com%2Fksr%2Fphotos%2F15609%2FMermaid_Poster_web.full.jpg&file=http%3A%2F%2Fs3.amazonaws.com%2Fksr-videos%2Fencodings%2F24129%2FKickstarter_final.original.mp4&backcolor=000000&screencolor=000000&controlbar=over&skin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kickstarter.com%2Fswf%2FksrTheme.swf&frontcolor=ffffff" width="480" height="360" ]

Or rather copy the URL of the video from the iframe code, paste it into the address bar of your browser and hit return to get the video itself, copy sourcecode, turn into shortcode.

Many thanks to everyone for the advice and special thanks to Panos for the code! I will be able to get the post up now. As you can tell from the fact that I’m unfamiliar with the term “iframes,” I have a lot to learn. Must study a little gigya short code!
