I was doing some housekeeping on my blog when I noticed that some of my pictures have mouse-over captions. I don’t give my pictures mouse-over captions; I don’t like mouse-over captions. Even worse, the captions are also the file names, and some of them are pretty lame. I checked my media library and found that while the captions box was empty, the title box was not. I don’t title my pictures, either.
These mouse-overs are detracting from my site, but I can’t delete them from the title box. Any suggestions?
Edit the posts that have the images with mouse hover captions then just click the edit icon on the image then remove the title from the title field then click save then update on the post editor.
Please note by doing so makes it impossible for search engines to read the relation to the image for example such as say it was the golden bridge with out the golden bridge written in the title field the search engine has no idea what the image represents.
Interesting info about the search engines. When you have file names like PinkIcon3 for something that’s mostly blue-green with little bits of pink, though, I don’t think having the file name as the title helps much. ;)
