How to integrate WP into a preexisting site that already has its own homepage

  1. We have a preexisting site created with PHP-Nuke. We want to change to WordPress. I've installed WP in the root directory of the site where the preexisting sites homepage is located. When I navigate to the home directory or when I click the site URL in the admin control panel I'm taken to the preexisting site homepage. Also, when I click view on any another page that I created in WP I get an 500 Internal Server Error.

The only thing I need from the preexisting site is the static content (pics, docs etc). I want to be able to see the Home page I created in WP and the other pages. How do I configure this?

  2. Simple:

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

  4. Hi @riflores, I remember PHP-Nuke! It's been a while.

What you want is a very custom install of WordPress. It seems that you are using the version of the software. There are two versions of the WordPress software, and

Because you want to do something really cool and custom, the forum that you want to post and ask question is the forums here,

You posted this question in the forums and with this software you can't do all of the custom stuff you would like.

Sounds like you have a great custom project, make sure to use the software and post in those forums and someone will take care of you.

    Good luck with your project
