How to link my Etsy page with photos to my blog
If the sidebar is good enough then that’s the place to be.
See if this helps?
If it all gets too weird post back though.
It gets to weird , and not sure it’s what I want. Want some of objects that I’m selling on etsy.com to always appear on the blog page.
Etsy calls it Etsy Mini and here is the script they tell me to copy and then paste somewhere, but where?
Thanks for your help,.
Java script / iframe and other security problems are stripped out – you need to have a rather plain html type link.
Sorry, I don’t know what that means
Etsy Mini code cannot be used here, just straight links. So if the Etsy Mini displays a scrolling display for example that cannot be used here. If you have an example of an image on Etsy you want linking toin your sidebar you can copy the details here or send them into Support (ask for me so you get the answer I mean) and I will sort that for you.
Easier to start from something working.
does this help, Mark?
Where is your own etsy page?
Can you help me with the last post, to continue
David, there are a couple ways to do this. One would be to use the image widget and include an image of one of your pieces of art and then link that image to your Etsy shop. The image widget makes it quite easy to do that since you don’t have to know any code.
The other way, is to use a text widget. In the text widget, you need to enter the HTML for whatever you are doing whether it would be just a text link “Visit my Etsy Shop” or whether you wanted an image linked to your etsy shop and some intro text.
For the text widget option, take a look at the following support page which explains how to use the text widget and also explains how to use the visual post editor to make the code so that you don’t have to know any HTML.
The image widget sounds like the way I’ll go since I don’t have to know any code.
Thanks for the help.
You don’t have to know code to use a text widget. This is a workaround I invented:
Just go to Write Post, as if you were doing a normal post. Put in everything you want in your Etsy widget and adjust the formatting, always keeping in mind how narrow your sidebar and therefore your text widget is. Once it’s more or less the way you want, click to the HTML editor, copy all the text, and then paste that in the Text Widget. Once it’s perfect, just delete the draft Post.
Thanks. I’ll give it a try.
Let us know how it works for you.
I am also trying to link my etsy page to my wordpress blog, using ‘etsy mini’. Since it seems this cannot be done, I tried creating a post, switching it to html, then copying and pasting that text into a text widget. However, in the post (before switching it to html) the spacing looks perfect, but when I inserted into text widget and went to my home page to view it, the spacing is off…how do I fix this?
I’d really like to use the Etsy Mini feature, but I can’t get it to work. Wish there was less primitive way to link to my store than a static picture link in the text widget box.

It is possible to have a more beautiful Etsy widget than the plain image version.
See the code below:

I leaned this trick from Panos!
It produces an Etsy widget – just copy and paste it in a post, save as draft and preview it to see that it works in a wordpress.com blog (delete the post later).
I used davidjacobsonglass’s Etsy feed to create this widget.
If you paste the url of your Etsy page here, I can create an Etsy widget that will work in a wordpress.com blog.
Variations are available.
The code I pasted will show your Etsy images. If you want variations just ask.
Sorry I missed your entry.
Please view my entry above if you still want to show your Etsy photos in your blog.
