    Hi, I have icons to all my social networks on my front page. They are images in an image widget with links to the respective social networking site. When those images on my front page are clicked, the link is openned in the same window or tab, diverting away from my site. Is there a way to have those links open in a new window or tab? Thanks. AC

    The blog I need help with is acfitness.wordpress.com.

    You need to add target blank to the href section of the code such as below (I’ve only show a partial on the code).

    <a href="http://blog.com/" target="_blank">

    Are you talking about the ones on top right in your sidebar?

    This is the code for your twitter button and notice where I inserted target=”_blank” ?

    <a href="http://www.twitter.com/acfitness1" target="_blank"><img width="108" height="108" class="aligncenter" title="twitter" src="http://acfitness.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/twitter-100.png?w=108&h=108"></a>

    Ah, OK, you are using image widgets. There is no way to have it open in a new tab or window.

    You would have to redo them using HTML code with text widgets to be able to open them in a new tab or window.

    Put a text widget into your sidebar and copy and paste the code below into the text area on that widget, save and then take a look at it on your blog. If it works for you, then you can just delete the image widgets you have now.
